This is truly a very special part of the world. Experience the ever-changing scenery from the tropical north to the dry desert country in South Western Queensland. (B,L,D)
Day 3: Boulia to Alice Springs. This is the longest day on the road! Enjoy spectacular scenery as we make our way through some of the most remote country in the world! Crossing from Queensland into the Northern Territory, our track is mostly dirt road between Boulia and Alice Springs and is one of the most remote tracks in the world! (B,L)
Day 4: Alice Springs. A day off to relax in Central Australia’s most iconic town, Alice Springs, following the previous day’s long journey from Boulia. A great opportunity to visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the Reptile Centre and many other attractions.
Day 5: Alice Springs to Uluru. Starting in Alice Springs, we set off to experience the wonder of the iconic Uluru. We make a stop at an authentic outback camel farm and for those that are keen there is the option to go for a short ride on the back of one of these desert animals (at your own expense). Continue on to the permanent campsite at Yulara for lunch before embarking to explore the 36 domes of Kata Tjuta, getting up close to this ancient geological formation. As the sun begins to disappear below the horizon, take a glass of sparkling wine and watch the rock’s rich colours change against the backdrop of a blazing Red Centre sunset. This is the perfect end to a remarkable day. Your tour host will have dinner and a glass of wine awaiting your arrival back at camp. (L,D)
Day 6: Kata Tjuta to Kings Canyon. An early start is rewarded with a glorious Uluru sunrise. While the morning’s fresh enjoy an unguided walk around the base of Uluru. Deepen your understanding of the land and the Mala people during a cultural interpretive walk with an Aboriginal guide (and interpreter). It is a unique opportunity to share experiences, and to connect with and learn about the oldest culture on earth. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to purchase Aboriginal arts and crafts at the Cultural Centre before we travel to our exclusive campsite within the Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon) where we sleep for the night. (B,L,D)

The photo opportunities are endless in Kings Canyon so be sure to bring your camera. At the end of the trek it’s time to refuel with a bite to eat before making the journey back to the remote centre of Alice Springs. (B,L)
Day 8: Travel south down the Explorer Highway, east of the A.P.Y. aboriginal lands to Marla. After a lunch break it’s on to the largest opal mining field in the world, Coober Pedy! Heading into town we will pass the extensive mining operations that help make this place so unique. Coober Pedy is a town where people live underground to escape the harsh desert conditions. Homes are mined out of the rock and provide an average temperature of 18°C. Explore Coober Pedy by night and enjoy a meal at one of the local restaurants or cafés that are a part of this outback town. Overnight: Underground budget accommodation. Meals: at own expense.
Day 9: Depart Coober Pedy 6.30am. After breakfast we head south again, through the desert country of northern South Australia, past the great expanses of salt lakes which make up some of this enormous desert country.
